Hailed by New York Concert Review for her "mellow sweetness of timbre" and "technique is - dazzling", awarded-winning artist Qian Yin enjoys a dynamic and versatile career as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, and pedagogue. Qian has earned recognition for her musicianship as a prize winner of the Berlin International Music Competition, Basel International Music Competition, Artist Presentation Society Competition, Alexander & Buono Foundation Competition, Global Music Awards, American Young Musician Award, Southern Illinois Young Artist Competition and so on. An active soloist, Qian has appeared in such venues as the Carnegie Weill Hall in NYC, London's Royal Festival Hall, Royal Academy of Music's Duke Hall, Taipei National Concert Hall and Benaroya Hall in Seattle.  Her live performances and recordings have been broadcasted by NPR (National Public Radio), Seattle Classical Channel King FM 98.1 and Sky Arts Channel-Sky UK Limited. Qian's album "Franck & Brahms Violin and Piano Sonatas" has received international acclaim and awards. Fanfare Magazine described (March/April 2023) wrote, "...you have only to hear the  combination of aching hope and intense longing that suffuses her shaping and shading of  Brahms....I can honestly say I was swept up by her performances of these two works in ways I never have quite been before."

A dedicated educator, Dr. Yin taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2012 to 2015. She received LRAM (Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music) Teaching Diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in London. And in 2017, Qian joined the music faculty at Red Deer College and Walla Walla University in 2018. Dr. Qian Yin’s priority is to guide her students to discover their unique sound and style, along with developing their technique for beautiful music making. Her students have won many international competitions, including Chicago International Music Competition, Vancouver International Music Competition, Washington State MTNA Outstanding Artist Competition, Singapore International Music Competition, Vienna International Music Competition, Tokyo International Youth Music Competition, Alexander & Buono Foundation Competition and etc. In additional to the competitions and awards,  Yin Music Studio's students were selected as a Concertmaster or Associate Concertmaster in Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as received excellent results in the Grade Exams of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Some of her outstanding students were invited to feature at RCM Certificate Program's Top Students Northwest Regional Celebrations of Excellence Recital and ABRSM Globe High Scorers' Concert.

As a passionate chamber musician, Yin has given recitals in Konzerthaus Berlin, Chicago Cultural Center, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Royal Festival Hall in London, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts in Illinois, Hong Kong Cultural Center, Shanghai Grand Theatre and Beijing Poly Theatre.​ In 2016, She was the recipient of the Atlantic Music Festival and Banff Musicians in Residence fellowship. She has participated in many renowned music festivals, including Banff Musicians in Residence in Canada, Atlantic Music Festival in Maine, Young Euro Classic in Berlin, and Shanghai Spring International Music Festival. During the 2005 season, she was invited to tour with Japan's Maestro Seiji Ozawa and chamber musicians from the 'Ongaku-juku' while performing for concerts in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Hamamatsu, Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin.

Yin holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Illinois, where she has been awarded a Teaching Assistantship from 2012-2015. Born in China, Qian earned a Bachelor of Music at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 2009, Ms. Yin received her Master Degree and LRAM (Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music) Teaching Diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Dr. Yin released her new album of Violin and Piano Sonatas by Franck & Brahms with Dr. PoChuan Chiang in 2023. In this album both artists concertized on an Italian Violin Stefano Scarampella from the year 1830 (courtesy of Guadagnini Violin Shop in Chicago), and Hamburg Steinway Model D Piano. Qian will join the faculty of Music Fest Perugia in Italy 2024.
